Here’s in interesting Google Ads tidbit. Google Ads enables advertisers who are active with Display campaigns the ability to Target Audiences based on HHI (Household Income) by Zip Code..
While in theory this is great, the fact that location data is matched with publicly available Avg. HHI data by Zip code, means that you’d get the richest and the poorest (and everyone in between) within the associated geographic locations targeted.
Variations in HHI within the geographic are flattened out. If you limit HHI to, say, above $80,000, Google would match that income level to geographic data (based on your IP address), and use that to target Display Ads. Worth keeping in mind.
