Here’s a list of some of our favorite FREE WordPress plugins. These could be used for a self-hosted WordPress implementation.  Always make backups & update plugins when plugin updates are available.  Use plugins at your own risk.

Contact Form 7
Build forms without HTML knowledge. You can make multiple forms and use for anything. Learning curve is pretty fast. Well documented online.

Display Widgets
Allows you to hide widgets from appearing on specific pages.

Duplicate Post
Makes it easy to duplicate a page or post (which, if you’ve spent any time formatting the page or post you’re duplicating, makes getting new pages up really fast and hassle free).

Exclude Pages from Navigation
Allows you to remove pages and posts from appearing in any listings of pages, including navigation. Great for hiding pages you don’t want the public viewing.

Google Analytics for WordPress
by Yoast. Allows easy integration of Google Analytics on your site.

NextGen Gallery
Decent plugin for creating & displaying photo galleries.

No Right Click Images
Perfect companion for NextGen Gallery plugin, blocks site visitors from right-clicking and saving images from your site.

Page Comments Off Please
Allows you to easily turn off the ability for visitors to comment on the site.

Embed Google Map
Easy way to get Google Maps on your site.

Super handy tool to get your site’s back-end coding SEO friendly. If you no nothing about SEO, you will learn a lot using this tool.

Use PressBackup to make backups of your WP site as either local downloads or on a cloud. Freemium. At a certain file size, you will need to pay to store backups on their cloud.
